LEADERSHIP

Jordan W. Katz

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Jordan is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Angeles Equity Partners.  Jordan is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's investment activities. 

Prior to co-founding Angeles Equity Partners in 2014, Jordan co-led the Industrials vertical at The Gores Group with Tim Meyer.  During his over 11 year tenure at Gores, Jordan served as a member of the board of directors for numerous portfolio companies.  Prior to joining Gores in 2002, Jordan was a member of UBS Warburg’s Los Angeles office where he focused on providing coverage to private equity firms and originating new transaction ideas.  In 2000, Jordan was a founding member of eVolution Global Partners, a venture capital firm established by Texas Pacific Group, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Bain & Company.  Jordan began his career in 1996 at Colony Capital, an international private equity firm focused on real estate-related investments. 

Jordan received a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Timothy P. Meyer

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Tim is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Angeles Equity Partners.  Tim is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's investment activities.

Prior to co-founding Angeles Equity Partners in 2014, Tim co-led the Industrials vertical at The Gores Group with Jordan Katz. Tim was responsible for leading due diligence efforts, driving operational transformation and providing portfolio company oversight.  During his tenure at Gores, Tim served as the Chairman and/or Chief Executive Officer of numerous portfolio companies, and was a member of both the Management and Investment Committees.  Prior to Gores, Tim spent two years at Gateway, where he was responsible for the revenue and margin performance of Services, Software, and Enterprise Products in the Professional Business Unit. Prior to Gateway, Tim spent more than five years at Bain & Company, where he led numerous strategy, M&A and operational improvement engagements for corporate and private equity clients.  Before that, Tim served in various sales leadership and transformation positions at AT&T and began his career with IBM.

Tim received a B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Sam Heischuber, managing director

Sam is a Managing Director at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2016, Sam was an investment professional at Platinum Equity in the Lower Middle Market group.  At Platinum, his primary responsibilities included evaluating and executing potential acquisitions, conducting and managing the due diligence process, and overseeing portfolio company operations.  Prior to his experience at Platinum, Sam was an Associate at Sun Capital Partners.  Sam began his career as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Wells Fargo in New York.

Sam received a B.S. in Business Administration, with a Finance concentration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

Sameer Patel, Managing director

Sameer is a Managing Director at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities. Sameer joined Angeles Equity Partners at its inception in 2014.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners, Sameer was an investment professional at The Gores Group, where he was responsible for evaluating and executing potential acquisition targets, as well as coordinating and managing the due diligence process. Sameer began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch in the Global Industrials Group.

Sameer received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.

FRANK SPELMAN, Managing Director

Frank is Managing Director at Angeles Equity Partners.  Frank is responsible for leading investments in several key sectors - chemicals and industrial goods, and industrial technology, manufacturing and services.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2018, Frank was a Principal at Apollo Global Management, and before that, at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.  Frank began his career as an analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Gleacher Partners.

Frank earned a B.S. in Economics, magna cum laude, from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

MATT HIVELY, OPERATING PARTNER*

Matt is an Operating Partner at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2022, Matt held multiple C-level leadership roles, including CEO of multiple portfolio companies, with Grupo Breca, a privately-held conglomerate in South America operating independent businesses in industries ranging from financial services, industrial, mining, hotels, and real estate. Before serving at Grupo Breca, Matt spent over a decade in the Private Equity and Corporate Strategy practices at Bain & Company, supporting both corporate and private equity clients across a broad range of industrial sectors.

Matt earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

peter kurto, OPERATING PARTNER*

Peter is an Operating Partner at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group, Peter served as an Operating Executive at Monomoy Capital Partners ("MCP"). Before joining MCP, he held key leadership roles, including serving as CEO of Columbus Industries, COO at H.M. Dunn AeroSystems, and CEO at AAF International. Peter commenced his career at General Electric in various business leadership roles in the Global Chemicals Intermediates and GE Plastics Businesses where he earned his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and was involved in closing several M&A deals.

Peter earned a B.A. in Economics from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.

adam lerner, Operating Partner*

Adam is an Operating Partner at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group, Adam was an executive with KIK Custom Products, a Centerbridge Partners-backed portfolio company. Before joining KIK, Adam was an operating partner at Marlin Equity Partners. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of sales and marketing for MicronPC, a direct manufacturer of computer and network hardware.

Adam earned a B.S. in economics, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Joseph Wharton Scholar.

Ursula ster, Operating Partner, finance*

Ursula is an Operating Partner, Finance at Angeles Operations Group. She is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing financial leadership and oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Ursula held multiple leadership roles in industrial technology companies, including as CFO of Divergent Technologies, Inc. and Czinger, Inc., and as a senior finance leader of Starlink at SpaceX. Before SpaceX, Ursula spent over a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Transaction Advisory Services practice advising clients on mergers and acquisitions across a broad range of industry sectors.

Ursula earned a B.A. in Business Economics with a Minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

 

Annie Chau, Chief operating & Compliance Officer

Annie is the Chief Operating and Compliance Officer of Angeles Equity Partners. Previously, she was the Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer of the firm, since its inception in 2014. She is responsible for the firm's internal operations and compliance efforts.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners, Annie was a consultant providing transaction advisory services to various buyers and sellers, including a private equity firm.  Prior to that, Annie was an Associate and, subsequently, a Vice President at The Gores Group, where she was responsible for the sourcing, execution and negotiation of certain Gores acquisitions and divestitures, particularly in the Industrials vertical.  While at Gores, Annie served as a member of the Board of Directors for Scovill and as an observer on the Boards of various other portfolio companies, including United Road Services, Sage Automotive Interiors, and Cosmo Specialty Fibers.  While at Gores, Annie was also involved in raising institutional funds Gores Capital Partners II, L.P. and Gores Capital Partners, III, L.P.  Annie began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Merrill Lynch.

Annie earned a B.A., with Honors, in Economics and a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

 

MAX SCHECHTER, Principal, Head of BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Max is a Principal, Head of Business Development at Angeles Equity Partners, where he leads the firm's deal origination efforts.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2017, Max worked at Lindsay Goldberg, where he coordinated the firm’s business development activities.  While at Lindsay Goldberg, his responsibilities included sourcing potential investment opportunities, developing intermediary relationships and managing the firm's Affiliate Partner network.  Prior to his experience at Lindsay Goldberg, Max was involved in private equity fundraising at both The Riverside Company and MVision Private Equity Advisers.

Max earned a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.

randi moran, chief performance officer*

Randi is the Chief Performance Officer at Angeles Operations Group. She is responsible for supporting the firm in the evaluation and due diligence of new platform investments, selection and development of leadership talent, and driving organizational effectiveness across portfolio investments. Randi will also serve as a leader and facilitator of human capital best practices across the portfolio.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Randi held multiple senior leadership roles within private equity and public companies, including at American Construction Source, Elo Touch Solutions, GE Power, Vought Aircraft, Boeing, Hughes Space & Communications, and AlliedSignal. Randi was also a Major in the U.S. Air Force.

Randi earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an M.B.A from Pepperdine University.

kurt hans, Head of tax*

Kurt leads the tax function at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for tax due diligence and also oversees the tax function of portfolio companies, including supporting management with tax risk mitigation and tax opportunity execution.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Kurt served as Managing Member of Abridged Tax Solutions, LLC, where he advised his clients (including Angeles Equity Partners) on various M&A tax matters. Prior to that, Kurt served as Senior Vice President of Tax for the Gores Group from 2004-2015, where he provided tax advice on transactions of varying sizes, complexities, and geographies. Kurt began his career with Arthur Andersen and KPMG.

Kurt earned a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from Colorado State University and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Denver.

swati bhanderi, VICE PRESIDENT, operations*

Swati is a Vice President at Angeles Operations Group. She is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Swati was a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where she focused on growth strategy and operational transformations for a broad range of industrial companies. Swati began her career as an aerospace engineer for large defense contractors and various startups.

Swati earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech and Purdue, respectively, and a M.B.A. from Boston University.

JAMIE BROWN, VICE PRESIDENT

Jamie is a Vice President at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2022, Jamie was an investment professional at Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners in New York and London where he was primarily responsible for deal evaluation, execution, and asset management. Jamie began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank in the Global Industrials Group.

Jamie received a Master of Finance degree from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. in Social Sciences (Hons.) from Durham University in the UK.


ELIZABETH CROWE, VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS*

Elizabeth is a Vice President at Angeles Operations Group. She is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Elizabeth was a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group, where she focused on due diligence of private equity investments and growth strategy projects for a broad range of companies. Elizabeth began her career in the securities division of Goldman Sachs in the Mortgage Backed Securities / Securitized Product Group.

Elizabeth earned a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Edgar friloux, VICE PRESIDENT

Edgar is a Vice President at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2022, Edgar was an investment professional at Union Park Capital, where he was primarily responsible for deal evaluation, execution, sourcing and overseeing portfolio companies. Edgar began his career in the Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan.

Edgar earned a B.A., with Honors, in Economics from the University of Chicago and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

brandon gold, VICE PRESIDENT, operations*

Brandon is a Vice President at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2023, Brandon was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he executed diligence and strategy projects for private equity, aerospace and defense, and technology clients. Brandon began his career at PepsiCo, where he supported its West Coast manufacturing and warehousing facilities. He also worked at SpaceX, where he focused on optimizing supply chain operations before moving into a strategic engineering role.

Brandon earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California and his Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Te’Rhon o’neal, VICE PRESIDENT

Te’Rhon is a Vice President at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2022, Te’Rhon was a Vice President at Westhook Capital, where he was primarily responsible for evaluating potential acquisition targets, conducting due diligence, and overseeing portfolio company operations. Previously, Te’Rhon was an investment professional at AUA Private Equity Partners, and he began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Te’Rhon received a B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University.

JIM TEMPLE, VICE PRESIDENT

Jim is a Vice President at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence, and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2021, Jim was an investment professional at ClearLight Partners where he was responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and overseeing portfolio company operations. Before ClearLight Partners, Jim worked at the micro-mobility start-up Bird focusing on strategy and corporate development. Jim began his career in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in the Global Services Group.

Jim graduated from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Computer Science.

Rodger yuan, VICE PRESIDENT, Operations*

Rodger is a Vice President at Angeles Operations Group. He is responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, driving post-close transformation, and providing oversight across portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Angeles Operations Group in 2022, Rodger was a Manager at McKinsey & Company, where he focused on growth strategy and operations projects for a broad range of industrial companies.

Rodger received a B.S., with Honors, in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

steve tamjidi, business development

Steve Tamjidi works in business development at Angeles Equity Partners, where he supports the firm's deal origination efforts, primarily focused on building direct relationships with corporate sellers.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2023, Steve led business development at Architect Equity where he sourced and qualified new investment opportunities from both intermediaries and corporate sellers. Prior to his experience at Architect Equity, Steve worked in business development at Ascension Equity Partners and Regent Equity Partners. Steve began his career at Marlin Equity Partners.

Steve earned a B.A. in Anthropology and minor in Management from the University of California, Irvine.

michael boehringer, ASSOCIATE

Michael is an Associate at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence, and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2023, Michael was a member of Lincoln International’s Global Industrials M&A Group in Los Angeles. Michael began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company in Cleveland.

Michael received a B.S. in Finance from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University.

winn medlock, ASSOCIATE

Winn is an Associate at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2023, Winn worked in Truist Securities’ Corporate and Investment Banking Division in the Industrials and Services Group. Winn began his career in Jefferies’ Investment Banking Division in the Private Capital Advisory Group.

Winn received a Master of Finance degree from Vanderbilt University and a B.B.A. in Managerial Finance and Real Estate from the University of Mississippi.

graham repp, ASSOCIATE

Graham is an Associate at Angeles Equity Partners, where he is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2023, Graham worked in J.P. Morgan's Investment Banking Division in the Diversified Industries Group.

Graham received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Chicago.

Rachel Lee, controller

Rachel serves as the Controller of Angeles Equity Partners, where she is responsible for financial and administrative matters of the firm.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners in 2022, Rachel was the Controller at BentallGreenOak, a global real estate investment management advisor, where she oversaw accounting and financial operations for various funds. Before joining BentallGreenOak, Rachel was a Senior Fund Accountant at Canyon Capital Advisors, a hedge fund manager, where she oversaw accounting and financial reporting for both open-ended and closed-ended funds. Rachel began her career as an auditor at Ernst & Young, where she was responsible for planning and performing audit engagements for hedge funds and private equity funds.

Rachel received her B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers Business School - New Brunswick and she is a certified public accountant (inactive).
